About Go Digital ASEAN
Working with governments, local partners, and volunteers across the region, Go Digital ASEAN delivers digital skills training to small business owners and workers, empowering them to participate and maximize opportunities in the digital economy. Our local implementing partners have deep-rooted experience working with rural and disadvantaged communities and expertise in the informal sector and industries including agriculture and tourism.
Launched in 2020, the first phase of the program trained over 225,000 MSMEs and workers from underserved communities in ASEAN, with a special emphasis on women. The second phase expands the program’s reach and provides advanced and fit-for-purpose training on business and financial literacy, digital marketing, cybersecurity, and carbon footprint reduction to up to 200,000 MSME owners and workers in the region.

Meet Silinphone, a small convenience store owner in Vientiane, Laos. With COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns, her sales plummeted. Customers began calling her directly to ask for a delivery option, but Silinphone had no idea how to do so.
Through joining the Go Digital ASEAN training on digital maps, Silinphone learned how to set up her store’s delivery service and even created a social media site reach more buyers.
The program is implemented by The Asia Foundation with funding from Google.org, Google’s philanthropic arm, and endorsement from the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (ACCMSME).
Go Digital ASEAN is an initiative under the Future Skills Alliance, a broad coalition of partners from both the public and private sectors working together to deliver future skills at scale to the region’s most marginalized.
